Description:

The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Instructional Design (PBDID) is offered by Athabasca University's Centre for Distance Education. Instructional design is a developing field with changing needs. As distance education and web-based learning grows and evolves, so too does instructional design. Professional instructional designers and educators with instructional design skills are in demand. The PBDID program is intended for practitioners who are specifically interested in pursuing instructional design as a profession. The PBDID diploma program provides learners with state-of-the-art knowledge and research in instructional design, hands-on experience with various distance education technologies, and individualized student support.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants to the PBDID program must hold a baccalaureate degree from a recognized post-secondary education institution.

    • CanTEST or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration)

    Applicants must submit a completed PBDID Questionnaire and PBDID Report Card provided by the University. Applicants must provide a copy of transcripts from all previous post-secondary institutions.
