| This health career program prepares graduates to work in a Medial Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD)/Central Supply Department (CSD) in the acute care setting. In this pgoram, students will learn medical terminology, communication skills, microbiology and infection control, safe care, preparation and processing of equipment and instruments, as well as other duties required to work in sterile processing. This program is based on CSA Standards. The program is offered using paced, distance education delivery methods with both full and part-time options. The full-time program is 24 weeks in length. Students in the part-time option will have one academic year to complete all requirements. This program includes 320 practicum hours, which will be completed over 14 weeks (full-time program), students may have to travel outside their home communities for the practicum experience. |
