Computer Science offers a rewarding, flexible and lucrative career. The Department of Computer Science also offers an extensive Co-op education program. Students in the co-op program have an amazing opportunity to meet employers, get career support, and complete 12-months of paid work experience before graduation. Students in many disciplines are drawn to Computer Science to expand their education and make new contributions to their areas. Whether you study Computer Science as a major, a joint major, or a minor, courses in Computer Science are an essential part of a comprehensive university education.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

    High school graduation, including 5 full credits at the Grade 12 level.

    A minimum average of 80% over the following,

    with no less than 60% in each course:

    • English 40S
    • Applied Mathematics 40S
    • 60% Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S and Physics 40S
    • One of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or
    • An academic 40S course

    Program admission requirements: 24 credit hours, including COMP 1020, PHYS 1070, MATH 1300, MATH 1700
