Description:

The PhD in Policy Studies is the first and only interdisciplinary doctoral program of its kind in Canada. The program is designed to prepare a new generation of researchers for positions in academe and the public, non-profit and private sectors at the local, regional, national and international levels.

    Applicants are required to have: completion of master's level degree in a social sciences discipline (or equivalent); and a minimum GPA of 3.33 / 4.33 (B+), or equivalent, in the last two years of study. The ideal advanced student for this program will have a strong, demonstrated capacity to undertake advanced study in policy-related fields, with a high level of accomplishment in their Master's level study.
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 93]
    Application Notes : If you have not completed two or more years, full-time, at a Canadian university or a university at which English was the primary language of instruction, or have not completed a graduate degree at a university where English was the primary language of instruction, you will be required to provide certification of English language proficiency through one of the accepted examinations listed below. Scores are valid for two years from the test date. It is important to understand that meeting the minimum English proficiency requirements does not guarantee admission. Programs may set additional requirements to these minimum standards. For exemption from this requirement, applicants are required to provide an official statement from their institutions Registrar's office confirming the use of English as the Medium of Instruction for the duration of their study.
