| Graduate studies in Home Economics Education is a small but very lively program. Over the years Home Economics faculty have worked closely in areas of shared interest in research and practice with colleagues throughout the Faculty of Education and related units across campus. Interests include global education, critical inquiry, food, health, environment, and inquiry into practice. |

One to two years’ of teacher education; or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.
Normally 18 credits of senior course work or a professional concentration in the area of interest. |

| Application Notes : | Applicants whose degrees are from a university outside Canada in which English is not the primary language of instruction must present evidence of competency to pursue studies in the English language prior to being extended an offer of admission.
All applicants must complete an online application form and pay the application fee to be considered for admission to UBC.
All applicants have to submit transcripts from all past post-secondary study.

A resume or CV and a statement of intent clearly outlining the area of interest and focus for study. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their plans with a Department member before applying.
A minimum of three references are required for application to graduate programs at UBC. References should be requested from individuals who are prepared to provide a report on your academic ability and qualifications.
