Some of our postgraduate students are also part of the teaching team. Current staff members have a wide variety of teaching and research interests, from linguistics, history, literature and translation studies to critical theory, drama, music and film.

There are lots of reasons to study German at UCD. If you like exploring languages, would like to spend time in a German-speaking country, like German culture, food & drink, sport, film or music, like reading and traveling, or would like to work in an international environment, then German is for you! Our graduates have gone on to find jobs in many different areas: teaching, finances, I.T., advertising, international relations, travel, P.R., translating, research, politics, journalism, the Civil Service and many more. A number of our graduates have also successfully pursued postgraduate degrees and have won scholarships and prizes.
