|Description:||The Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies degrees enable students to pursue individualized and innovative interdisciplinary research outside the boundaries of existing discipline-specific graduate programmes. They permit qualified candidates to pursue a Master’s or a PhD. in areas in which the University has resources and expertise but does not offer a formal degree programme.

Normally, successful completion of an honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent) with cumulative GPA of at least 3.3, or an average of A- or equivalent in the last two years of study.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100]
|Additional Admission Requirements:||
5-page thesis/dissertation proposal (with working bibliography), along with the following: a paragraph explaining why they wish to pursue a Masters or Doctoral degree in IDST, a paragraph explaining the different disciplines the candidate will bring to the research topic
A letter from the supervisor indicating their willingness to supervise the applicant
Three academic references
A sample of a sustained piece of academic writing (e.g.,term paper of 15-20 pages, or thesis chapter)
