Description:

The School of Archaeology will be offering a one-year, full-time, MA in Archaeology in 2008-9. This is a general MA degree in Archaeology, but it is being structured to allow students to specialise in aspects of archaeology that most interest them: Environmental Archaeology, Historical and Contemporary Archaeology, Landscape Archaeology, and MA in Archaeological Practice (Part-Time).

Although a taught degree rather than a research degree, almost half of the final grade is for a dissertation (or thesis) based on original, supervised, research. The value of the MA degree is recognised in the archaeological profession; a very high percentage of the School’s MA students have found employment in the profession soon after graduating.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
The minimum requirement is a degree that has an overall 2:1 grade. Ideally this should incorporate a 2:1 in Archaeology or a cognate discipline.

    * We make every attempt to provide accurate information on prerequisites, programs, and tuition. However, this information is subject to change without notice and we highly recommend that you contact the school to confirm important information before applying.
