University College Dublin

Field of Study:Medical Radiologic Technology/Science - Radiation Therapist
Length:4 Year(s)
Cost per year:*
National: $29,000

Description:

Radiographers are responsible for producing high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The skills of a radiographer are diverse: while obviously a caring profession, Radiography requires considerable technological and scientific expertise in both the production of images and the responsible delivery of ionising radiation. During the degree programme, a proportion of core modules are shared with the Medicine, Physiotherapy and Biomedical, Health & Life Sciences programmes, promoting interdisciplinary teaching and learning.

Mandatory clinical placements form an essential part of the programme, a proportion of these extend beyond the semesterised university teaching terms. These placements are undertaken in eight clinical sites nationwide during all four stages of the programme. Successful completion of clinical competency assessments is required for qualification.
