If human health and disease research interests you, this exciting degree will provide you with the fundamental knowledge and skills you require. This degree will appeal to anyone who has a keen interest in science and who wishes to study the effect modern diseases have on the normal function of the healthy human body. You will also learn how scientifically driven investigation can advance our knowledge of disease treatment and prevention.

The programme provides you with a wide breadth of education and training across a range of modern medical and biological sciences and focuses on the application of scientific developments in the prevention and alleviation of disease.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    The following courses are required as prerequisites for domestic applicants: Irish, English, a third language, mathematics, one laboratory science subject, and one other recognised subject.

    Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements.
