Description:Chemical engineering deals with problems in three different areas: energy, materials, and the environment. As a chemical engineer, you'll design, implement, and supervise processes where matter is transformed – from fuel to energy, from raw materials to finished product, from waste to useful by-products.

Waterloo has one of the most active chemical engineering departments in North America, with over 25 full-time professors whose research and consultation activities enrich your classes. You'll explore exciting new areas in biotechnology, pollution control, materials science, and health care. Chemical engineers are in demand in diverse fields in manufacturing and resource industries. Students can choose a specialization in Biochemical Engineering/Biotechnology, Materials Science, Mathematical Analysis, Statistics, and Control, or Pollution Control.
