Upgrade your current Registered Practical Nursing Diploma to earn a BScN Degree!



Students receive 30 units of advanced credit and enter at Level II. The two Level II core nursing courses are designed to assist students in transitioning to the baccalaureate program. This is a collaborative program of McMaster University, Mohawk College and Conestoga College. Students choose to attend one of the three sites and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree from McMaster University. Curriculum is designed so that the study of nursing, the humanities, and the physiological, psychological and social sciences are interrelated and threaded throughout the program.


Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must provide evidence of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; newly graduated applicants must have written the Practical Nurses Registration Examinations by May 31st of the year of application and all applicants must provide evidence of successful registration with the College of Nurses by August 15 of the same year. Submit proof of a diploma in Practical Nursing (two-year program) from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent, with a minimum overall average of 75% or higher. All educational documents, diplomas, and proof of CNO must be submitted to OCAS by March 30, 2019.

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80]
    Application Notes : All classes in Mohawk College are provided in English. Students whose first language is not English are expected to prove their proficiency with one of the following: successful completion of GAS-EAP (478) Program Level 8 with 70%; TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based); IELTS minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5; or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma & English Credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued from a public school board.
