Description:

he First Nations, Métis and Inuit Community Liaison Program will prepare graduates to fill a number of important roles in the education system. Students will learn, through theory and practice courses, to be “connectors” in building positive relationships between homes (families) and schools in their professional capacity, as well as serve as a positive example within the community. Graduates of the program will have the knowledge, skills, and professional demeanor to work effectively with students, parents, school jurisdiction staff, as well as staff from government and community agencies to assist in integrating the school into the community and develop trust and effective communication between Aboriginal homes and schools.

Students may receive a certificate within three years. Classes run two evenings a week which allows students already working in the field to access the program. This program is brokered from Bow Valley College.
