Description:

Vocational Power Mechanics is a three year, ten credit course designed to teach students automotive service and repair. This course benefits students planning a career in the automotive repair industry and those who are interested in learning more about servicing their own vehicles.

Students in the introductory level are taught the safe and proper use of hand tools. These skills are considered to be transferable to many other trades. The entire automobile is studied, starting with simple concepts, and gradually moving on to diagnosis and repair of the most sophisticated automotive systems.

The program includes work experience, where students work in an actual industrial site. This portion of the course is offered near the end of the program and is designed to aid students in making the transition from school to the world of work.
