Description:

Graduates of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program may find careers in family counselling, mental health and addictions, child welfare, healthcare, criminal justice, community development, activism, and advocacy.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 Mathematics  or  Grade12 Science 
  •  Grade12 International Languages  or  Grade12 Social Science  or  Grade12 Visual Arts 
Applicants are required to have a Grade 12 diploma with overall average of 70% in core subjects. Applicants must also have the following high school courses: one approved math or science; one approved 30-level language, social science, or fine arts; and one additional approved 30-level course.

Students must also complete Northlands College application and submit: a letter explaining why you want to take this program and your career goals; a transcript of your most recent high school marks and all applicable post-secondary transcripts (originals not required); and a current resume. A Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Checks may be required for practicum placements.
