The Medical Laboratory Science Technology Program prepares students to work as Medical Laboratory Technologists. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist you will be part of the team of clinical heath care professionals providing quality patient care. You will perform a variety of specialized tests using high-tech instrumentation that assists physicians in diagnoses, treatment and prevention of disease in patients. You will collect and prepare assorted samples for analysis; perform the requested testing procedures; and interpret the testing results.

Applicants are required to have Grade 12 or ABE Advanced Certificate and the following courses, each with a grade of “C” or higher: English 12 or English 12: First Peoples or Technical and Professional Communications 12 or English 045 or equivalent; Biology 12 or Biology 050 or equivalent; Chemistry 12 or Chemistry 050 or equivalent, Principles of Math 12 or Math 050 or equivalent (for students graduating secondary school prior to 2014); and Foundations of Math 12 or PreCalculus 12 or Math 050 or equivalent (for students graduating secondary school 2014 and later). Student selection for the program is extremely competitive. “C” is the minimum, but higher grades will improve your chances of being accepted.
