Description:

Dietrac Technical Institute offers a 33-week entry level training program and an 18-week advanced level program in carpentry. This program is designed to assist individuals in developing sufficient basic skills and knowledge to enter the labour force as apprentice carpenters. Trade theory includes the study of fundamental principals of general shop practice, carpentry fundamentals, basic drawing and sketching, site preparation, layout and footings, wall forms, floor and wall framing, interior walls ad ceilings, interior trim, roof framing fundamentals, exterior finish, stair fundamentals, rigging for carpenters, first aid, WHMIS and safety instruction.
