Program Information

School:Coastal Pacific Aviation Ltd.
Degree:Certificate
Field of Study:Airline/Commercial/Professional Pilot and Flight Crew
Description:Flying a multi-engine aircraft presents new challenges to the pilot. Not only are there two engines to manage, but there is also a much higher level of performance, which brings along increased requirements for responsibility and care. Proper training and recurrency are very important to being a safe, competent, multi-engine aircraft pilot. Coastal Pacific Aviation's multi-engine rating course can begin at any time. Students would find it an advantage to have some experience flying aircraft with a constant speed propeller and/or retractable gear prior to training on a twin-engine aircraft.

The progress of the individual determines the flying time needed to reach flight test standard. Coastal Pacific Aviation's multi-engine rating course begins with two hours twin engine simulator time prior to flying the aircraft. The average time in the aircraft after completing the simulator training is nine hours of dual instruction. The flight test normally takes just over one hour.
