The objective of the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program is to provide students with satisfactory skills and competency in a variety of clinical and interactive areas needed for employment in the health care field. Students learn about individuality of the person, role of the worker, and assisting the families and household management at homes, hospitals, senior homes, and long-term care facilities. Both clinical and community placements are also included in this program to provide students with ‘real’ work experience.
Graduates may find job opportunities as personal support worker, home support worker, personal care attendant, residence care aide, nursing assistant, and restorative care worker. |
