Description:

The Career Exploration & Development Skills program is designed to enable students to explore their own career development while becoming familiar with current career counselling research, concepts, and employment facilitation skills. Students will be trained to a level of competence enabling them to provide a variety of approaches to career exploration and employment counselling applicable across different community settings.

The program exposes students to a wide range of contemporary models of career exploration and counselling techniques applicable to various populations and cultural groups. The program consists of 6 courses over 18 weeks of study, totalling 24 credits. Students may apply these credits towards the Diploma of Professional Counselling or other Programs.

Prerequisites:

    Admissions Requirements:

    • High school graduation verified by transcript and/or Proof of higher academic credentials verified by transcript;
    • Successful completion of the VCCT interview
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) or DuoLingo
