Description:

Automotive technicians test, repair and service automobile systems. They employ critical and rational thinking in diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems on modern vehicles. Automotive technicians disassemble, inspect and service engines, cooling systems, transmissions, drivelines, brake systems, suspension and steering systems. BCIT's School of Transportation has partnered with Honda Canada to deliver Honda and Acura brand specific training alongside the Provincial curriculum outlined by the Industry Training Authority (ITA).

This entry level program provides students with the basic knowledge and practical skills needed for entry into the automotive industry. Once graduated, they may pursue a career as a general repair technician or choose to specialize in one of the many varied career paths that have emerged within the industry. Honda and Acura sponsorship allows for a two week work practicum within this program providing the student with the opportunity to network within Honda and Acura dealerships.
