Description:

In the Conservation Enforcement program, you will take courses in topics such as conservation investigations, defensive driving and traffic control, national use of force framework, scenario/reality-based training, and professional patrol tactics. After completing on-the-job training, you will be prepared to work in natural resource agencies as a conservation enforcement officer and in other related fields of enforcement and security throughout Canada.

Conservation Enforcement students are required to live in residence for the duration of their training, except when they are in on-the-job training.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Admission requirements for this program are as follows: grade 12 or equivalent with credits at or above the general level; post secondary certificate or diploma in a related field; 19 years of age or older by program start date; a Psychological Profiling Test held in P.E.I.; completion of a Holland College medical form; a Police Records Check (CPIC) with no findings of guilt; proof of Canadian citizenship or Landed Immigrant Status; valid unrestricted driver’s license which is valid for the duration of the program; Three letters of reference (excluding references from family members); certification in swimming - Aqua Quest 6 or equivalent; and Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR which is valid for the duration of the program.



    Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified Forestry, Wildlife, Fishery, or Environmental Technicians or graduates of a renewable resource program. Applicants are also asked to include a résumé including work and volunteer experience with applicable dates, membership in groups, associations or athletics, awards and distinctions, and any other information about yourself relevant to the program to which you are applying.
