The objective of this program is to equip students with the theoretical and practical competencies necessary to gain employment in a pharmacy environment. The program emphasizes interpersonal skills and a strong sense of responsibility for this client-centred field. Duties, such as preparation of medicine for dispensing, inventory control, drug distribution, narcotics control, and sterilization, are just a sampling of the duties performed by pharmacy technicians.
The Pharmacy Technician (PHT) diploma program is designed to prepare you for a challenging career in a Community/Retail Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Manufacturing Facility or Long-Term Care Facility. This 40 week diploma program is offered during the day and includes an 8 week co-op placement. Eight weeks of co-op placement combined with 32 weeks of classroom instruction ensures you graduate with confidence in yourself and in your theoretical and practical skills. |
