Description:

The Broadcast Performing Arts (BPA) training program will introduce you to the professional world of broadcasting. You’ll develop realistic skills in the creative, technical, and business aspects of the industry and will graduate with a solid foundation in the basics of broadcasting.

During your hands-on program, you'll be working in a genuine radio station environment. You'll be 'On the Air' from your very first day at our broadcasting school! You'll develop skills from day one as an on-air personality, in news and sports writing and delivery, in commercial production, copywriting, programming, music direction, and much more. You'll also develop an understanding of the wide range of business aspects within the industry, and you’ll learn from the best with our broadcasting school faculty.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must have high school graduation or be at least 19 years of age. They must pass a personal interview with the registrar, either in person or on the phone. They must also write an entrance exam coverin the areas of vocabulary, grammar, general knowledge, reading, comprehension, and logic, and pass with a minimum of 65%. Finally, applicants are required to do a voice announcing audition and pass with a minimum of 60%.
