Description:

The Video & Film Production (VFP) program was created by the Columbia Academy video and film school in Vancouver to introduce the student to the professional world of video, film, and television production and to develop realistic skills in the creative, technical, and business aspects of the industry.

Students do the actual jobs done by today's video, film, and television professionals. Through this unique educational approach, you will graduate trained and experienced. In VFP, you'll complete six class projects (as well as possible personal or client projects) during your term, gaining experience in a variety of video, film, and television production positions, such as director, producer, producer's assistant, production assistant, camera operator, camera assistant, key grip, gaffer, editor, location sound mixer, and lamp operator.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must have high school graduation or be at least 19 years of age. They must pass a personal interview with the registrar, either in person or on the phone. They must also write an entrance exam coverin the areas of vocabulary, grammar, general knowledge, reading, comprehension, and logic, and pass with a minimum of 65%.
