Description:

A degree in Counselling at Columbia incorporates a unique mix of biblical studies, theology, and psychology to offer insight into the human condition. The program incorporates the best of these disciplines and offers students a solid foundation for integrating their Christian faith with current psychological research.

This program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for caring for people as they experience the spiritual, emotional, psychological, and relational challenges of life. Students develop an integrated approach to helping people, one that is built upon a biblical worldview and informed by the social sciences. Students also have opportunities to apply their skills and knowledge in practical ways.

Applicants must hold a high school diploma with a minimum average of 60%. This average will be calculated using the student’s top 5 submitted grades from their last two years of high school. 3 of these 5 grades must be academic courses and one of these 3 must be English 12 or provincial/state equivalent. Applicable grade 12 courses take precedence over grade 11 courses.
Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
Application Notes : A foreign student must have a minimum score of 550 for the paper based TOEFL or 213 for the computer based TOEFL or 79 for the internet-based TOEFL or an IELTS score of 6.5 (Academic Module).
