Description:

Hairstyling offers the opportunity for a lifetime career in one of our largest and most respected industries. The course is offered on a full-time basis for a period of 12 months. The course consists of 1500 hours of training at the Academy. After graduating from the course, the student is required to complete 2000 hours of on-the-job apprenticeship training before writing the Certificate of Qualification examination to become a licensed Hairstylist.

Students will be exposed to the most relevant and modern aspects of Hair Styling. Students will be given the knowledge required to undertake a career in Hair Styling and start their own business in the Hair Styling field. Students will also learn the importance of the professional ethics and work with L’Oreal Professional Color Treatments, Matrix and Rusk products.

    All applicants are expected to meet the following minimum requirements: Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent, or be at least 18 years of age to be considered as an mature student. Students are reminded that some employers require a Grade 12 diploma as a qualification of employment even if a postsecondary training program has been successfully completed. Information about any additional or special admission requirements should be obtained from the college of your choice, as well as from employers in your chosen occupational areas.
