Western University - Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry

Faculty:Medicine
Degree:Post-diploma
Field of Study:Rheumatology
Length:2 Year(s)

Description:

The goal of our program is to provide residents with a comprehensive rheumatology training experience. Our residents receive exposure to all aspects of rheumatology, through our wide variety of rheumatology clinics, our active rheumatology consult service, and our rheumatology consultants who subspecialize in all areas of rheumatology. Our specialized clinics, for example, ensure that at the end of rheumatology training, residents have gained exposure to all areas of rheumatology (ie vasculitis, myositis, scleroderma, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies). We also offer multi-disciplinary clinics. Our clinics are high volume, ensuring an abundance of learning opportunities, as well as honing of injection skills. We have an active and supportive research program, and a strong academic half day with plenty of opportunities for learning. At the end of training, rheumatology residents will be well-rounded, with a strong foundation and exposure to all aspects of rheumatology and milestones and entrustable activities.
