The aim of the Dalhousie MBA Program is to prepare students to be effective and confident leaders in tomorrow’s business environment. Core courses are integrated to provide students with a thorough understanding of the whole organization and as well as its constituent business functions. Carefully developed elective courses ensure a focus on relevant issues and opportunities in the student’s chosen concentration/field of study.
The program is delivered through a mix of approaches including casework, lectures, discussions, role playing, group and individual research projects, guest speaker presentations by practicing managers, as well as comprehensive field projects and simulations. Throughout the program, an emphasis is placed on the student’s ability to develop skills that are effective in real world settings. The use of current information technologies ensures that the learning environment reflects real world business conditions. |

Dalhousie-recognized Bachelor’s degree with a B average (GPA 3.0, approximately 73/100) or better in the final two years, but other criteria are considered. Applicants to the Accelerated program are required to have an average of A- (GPA 3.7, roughly 80/100) or better in the final two years of study of a Business program in a recognized university.
Students will be expected to possess a level of mathematical understanding and computer ability to allow them to complete work assigned in first year core classes. Students should have a working knowledge of electronic spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications.
Results of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) are required. Accelerated, or 10 month MBA applicants must have a minimum of 600 GMAT score.
Candidates who have received a degree from a non-English-language university, whose native tongue is not English, must also submit results of both the TOEFL and the TSE. We seek a minimum TOEFL score of 580 (paper-based) / 237 (computer-based). (Please note that the following tests will be accepted in place of the TOEFL, with the following minimum scores: MELAB 90, IELTS 7, CanTest 4.5.) |
