Description:

Geology is an exploration of the dynamics of our planet, its resources, and the most economic and sustainable way to use those resources. By choosing to study geology you will become a scientific detective, working closely with your professors to uncover the Earth’s past and predict its future. You will find the field of earth sciences rewarding if you enjoy the outdoors, have a good scientific knowledge base, and want to understand how the world around you works.

  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have English 12 or English 12: African heritage, and four additional Grade 12 Academic or Advanced courses, including: Mathematics 12 or Precalculus 12 and Chemistry 12 (applicants without Chemistry 12 will be considered individually). Minimum overall average of 70%.
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90]
Application Notes : Since English is the language of instruction at Acadia University, candidates must be able to communicate competently in English both orally and in writing, and students whose first language is not English may be required to present the result of the TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL or PTE Academic. Acadia's English requirements are as follows: TOEFL - 90 IBT with no subtest score below 20; IELTS - 6.5 with no subtest score below 6.0; CAEL - 70 with no subtest score below 60; PTE Academic - 61 with no subtest score below 60; Cambridge English: Advanced - 176 with no subtest score below 169; or MELAB - 80.
