Confederation College’s two-year Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance diploma program teaches you everything you need to know to prepare for the Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license. Get the hands-on experience you need to maintain, repair and troubleshoot complex aircraft systems. Topics include aircraft construction and science, electrical and electronics, airframe systems and inspection, rotary wing (helicopter) maintenance and structural repair.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*

  •  Grade12 English 

Applicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (U/C), or Open (O) preparation levels with Grade 12 English (C/U) Level; or successful completion of the Mature Student Assessment; or successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED); or appropriate credits from the Academic and Career Entrance program (ACE). Applicants are recommended to have Grade 12 MAP4C Foundations for College Math or MCT4C Mathematics for College Technology or University Preparation; and Physics Grade 11 or 12. If you do not meet the entrance requirements, we encourage you to apply for the Pre-Technology program to facilitate success in your Technology path.

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0]

Proof of English proficiency must be current (within two years) and can be provided by either an iBT TOEFL or IELTS score. The minimum score for admittance to a post-secondary diploma program (except health programs) is: iBT TOEFL: 79 or IELTS: 6.0. Other English language proficiency assessments are accepted.
