Description:

This program examines the film and music industry from a promotional, legal, and financial viewpoint. In the film portion, we discuss basic film making, film industry jobs, film promotion, film industry contracts, film financing, film history, film tradeshows and film festivals, film administration, film production, film production accounting, etc. The music industry section studies record production, concert promotion, entertainment business skills, music industry contracts, artist development, artist management, music festivals, an introduction to the modern recording studio, music promotion and marketing, and many other topics.

The Film and Music Business program also covers publishing and copyright, running an independent label, music industry and film industry business contracts, the history of the music industry and film industry, road managing, film making budgets, record production budgets, National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the Audio Engineering Society, the International Music Market (MIDEM), Cannes Film Festival, Berlin and Venice Film Festivals, Sundance Film Festival, Toronto and Vancouver Film Festivals, and much more.
