| he Master of Nursing Program is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses to provide professional leadership in their chosen advanced practice field. The MN program has three separate fields: Nursing Administration, Clinical Nursing, and Nurse Practitioner [Adult or Child Stream]. Students are admitted into one field. The MN program usually takes 2 years to complete. The Program is designed to provide students with the skills and competencies required for advanced practice nurses. The Program provides a) opportunities to effectively implement in practice a broad range of theoretical and research evidence relevant to nursing, b) a learning environment that reflects the research-intensive university, and c) an education that is responsive to a breadth of ideas and the complexities of caring for highly diverse populations within a variety of political, socioeconomic, and health care systems. |

Applicants must hold the BScN degree of the University of Toronto or an equivalent degree (a BN or BSN is considered equivalent). Applicants must have obtained at least a mid-B (75% or 3.0 GPA) standing in the final year of undergraduate study and, in addition, must have obtained at least a B standing in the next-to-final year
Applicants seeking admission to the Nurse Practitioner field must also have two years of clinical experience.
Applicants must have completed an introductory statistics course prior to submitting an application to the MN program. |
