Description:This certificate program will help individuals develop a high level of competence in communication, particularly in business and government organizations. The program focuses on helping students learn how to complete the following: write letters, memoranda, and reports that are concise, lucid, and effective, plan and deliver informative and persuasive oral presentations without undue stress or stage fright, generate information through library research, database searches, systematic observation, interviews, and surveys, analyze information to yield conclusions that will be understood and recommendations that will be acted upon, use careful organization, headings, and visual aids to produce reports that are impressive to look at and informative to read, interact effectively in small groups and committees, and foster an organizational environment which encourages effective communication by all employees
