Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission. Applicants who will attain the age of 18 by 31 December of the year of admission may also be considered eligible.
In addition to a high school diploma, AUB requires that the applicant holds a bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited/recognized institution, including coursework equivalent to the Foundation of Medicine and Preclinical phase. This includes a minimum of 8 credit hours in each of the following or their equivalent - Biology, General Chemistry, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, and Physics.
The language of instruction at AUB is English.
- Applicants for whom English is a second language or have completed their education in a language other than English are required to submit evidence of English language proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Applicants who have completed their education where the medium of instruction was English are exempt from the TOEFL/IELTS requirement.
- Applicants holding Advanced Placement (AP) English certification or an equivalent recognized English language qualification are exempt from the TOEFL/IELTS requirement.
NOTE: Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.
Credits from professional degrees in Nursing, Pharmacy, Podiatry, Allied Health, Public Health, Chiropractic, or related health disciplines will be accepted in Foundation of Medicine and Preclinical Sciences phase of the program.
Credits from an IMED-listed medical school can be transferred into the Basic Medical Sciences and Clinical phases of the program.
Acceptance of transfer credits depends upon formal review of course comparability which is at the discretion of the university. Any requests for advanced standing should be made at the time of initial application.
Applicants are advised that the submission of fraudulent documentation or the deliberate omission of material information during the application process will result in the withdrawal of any offer of admission or, if already enrolled, dismissal from the program.
