Description:

Acadia University’s Jodrey School of Computer Science will help you move beyond being just a user of computers. The School will teach you how to design and implement computer systems that solve real-world problems. We offer a Bachelor of Computer Science, a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours, a Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computer Science. In our Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, we offer defined options in Software Development, Game Development, Data Analytics, Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing, as well as options to take a second major or an interdisciplinary minor. Our programs are designed for those students who do not have a programming course from high school. If you do have programming experience, please let us know, and we may be able to fast-track your 1st year courses.

Applicants are required to have English 12 or English 12: African heritage, and four additional Grade 12 Academic or Advanced courses, including: Precalculus 12 (applicants with only Mathematics 12 will be required to successfully complete the non-credit Math 0120 Advanced Pre-University Mathematics in the first semester of the program). Minimum overall average of 70%.
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70]
Application Notes : Since English is the language of instruction at Acadia University, candidates must be able to communicate competently in English both orally and in writing, and students whose first language is not English may be required to present the result of the TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL or PTE Academic. Acadia's English requirements are as follows: TOEFL - 90 IBT with no subtest score below 20; IELTS - 6.5 with no subtest score below 6.0; CAEL - 70 with no subtest score below 60; PTE Academic - 61 with no subtest score below 60; Cambridge English: Advanced - 176 with no subtest score below 169; or MELAB - 80.
