Description:

What can we learn from the ancient world? And how is it relevant today? At Kent, you’ll discover how the ancient world shapes today’s culture, identity and politics – and gain practical experience that prepares you for a wide range of careers.

You’ll study classical civilisation and archaeology right where Roman Britain began – with hands-on digs, heritage placements, and the chance to design your own creative project.

Through history, literature, art, philosophy and archaeology you’ll learn about the Roman Empire, Greek Civilisation and Ancient Egypt. You’ll also consider how the ancient world is around us today in films, books, TV and video games. Topics such as gender and sexuality, mythology and storytelling, identity, migration and religion will also be discussed in the context of the ancient world, and modern society.
