You are eligible to earn professional New York State teacher certification in several occupational subject areas. This program also prepares you for other professional roles not requiring certification.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s or master’s degree/advanced certificate. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better is recommended for applicants to be competitive in the application process.
All international transcripts must be verified through a World Education Services (WES) credit evaluation as part of your application.

| Test Scores: | - Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

| Application Notes : | Submit official TOEFL (79 overall, MBA require 83) or IELTS (6.5) scores, unless exempt.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are optional for admission. For those students who have a GPA below a 3.0, it is highly recommended.

Statement of purpose: In 500 words or less, describe your personal achievements relating to your academic interests, and detail your educational and professional objectives with reasoning for applying to SUNY Oswego. This statement will help the review team better understand and evaluate your application.
Resume: Include a professional resume or CV that includes your academic history, professional background and any accomplishments of note. This document should provide details that support your admittance to the program.
