Designed with the fast-paced schedule of the working nurse in mind, these graduate diploma programs develop expertise and prepare students to advance nursing in the continuously evolving fields of mental health and addictions and dementia studies. These distinct programs prepare students for employment in many positions within these important nursing specialties.
It is projected that the prevalence of dementia will increase dramatically in the decades to come. Health and social service policy makers and service planners at every level of organization have expressed concern about the inadequacy of current systems to cope with the needs of those affected by dementia. This program is designed for Registered Nurses who wish to become leaders in the development and delivery of specialty care for individuals affected by dementia. |

Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing, or Bachelor of Nursing Science from an accredited university
- Minimum B+ (77%) or equivalent in the last two years of full-time study, or last ten full academic credits
- Registered Nurse (in good standing) in the province of Ontario or active practicing license in any other Canadian province.
- Registered Nurses without a baccalaureate degree, or with a baccalaureate degree in another discipline, are encouraged to apply for admission and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Applicants with practice experience and a lower admission average are encouraged to apply and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

All applicants, domestic and international, must submit the following documents to complete their application:
- Transcripts: Unofficial copies of all post-secondary transcripts
- 2 letters of reference: Academic references are preferred; however, professional references will be accepted. Reference forms will be emailed to the referees that you have appointed on OUAC
- Plan of Study/Personal Statement: 1-2 pages outlining your objectives in a graduate program. Any specific research interests, relevant experiences, and/or career aspirations can be included
- Detailed Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Proof of Citizenship (ie. copy of passport or birth certificate)
