|Description:||The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a four-year non-direct entry degree program. The program includes a pre-professional year (Year 1) of prerequisite university-level courses, followed by three years (Year 2, 3 and 4) of concentrated nursing education and clinical practice opportunities.
The College of Nursing offers three years of nursing education that builds upon a pre-professional year leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.). Students in the pre-professional year study courses in the humanities, natural, social and health sciences all of which are foundational for the nursing program.

Applicants must have a minimum weighted average of 60% in 30-credit units of the pre-professional year courses *
English Language proficiency - A high level understanding and functionality in English is essential
*Year 1 of the Nursing program is completed in the University of Saskatchewan's College of Arts and Science. Sudents should apply to the College of Arts and Science to complete the 30 credit units of pre-professional courses required for Year 1 of the degree program. The pre-professional year can also be completed through a variety of institutions including the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada and at regional colleges throughout the province. Contact these institutions directly in you are interested in applying.
The application for Year 2 of the BSN opens in October. Pre-professional year courses must be completed by April 30 of the year you apply for entrance into the College of Nursing for Year 2.
Students apply to the College of Nursing to enter Year 2 of the degree program while completing the pre-professional courses in Year 1. Admission to Year 2 is competitive; applicants are ranked according to average and the top candidates are selected.
High School Requirements
The following Grade 12 level subjects are required to complete the pre-professional courses for Nursing:
- International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90]
