Description:

The MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages gives you the valuable skills to engage with theoretical and practical challenges of teaching English as a foreign language, or as a second language. Swansea University has one of the longest-established TESOL training and education centres in the UK and is internationally known for excellence in vocabulary research.

The faculty is based on our energising Singleton Park campus, in parkland overlooking Swansea Bay. The Graduate Centre is designed to promote individual and collaborative research activity of international standard, providing a supportive environment for those undertaking postgraduate research and taught masters study. It offers postgraduate training to enhance academic and professional development, and facilitates seminar programmes, workshops and international conferences.

  • The typical entry requirement is 2:2 degree (55% minimum) (or overseas equivalent). Any degree subject will be considered.
  • For applicants whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component) or equivalent English test.
