Description:

The Master of Dentistry in Prosthodontics program provides advanced education and training in prosthodontics to prepare graduates to pursue careers in clinical practice, academics and research.

    The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the MDent in Prosthodontics program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.


    Eligibility criteria

    • Degree requirement: You must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from a minimum four-year undergraduate dental school. A DMD or DDS that is three years in length is acceptable if the undergraduate dental school is accredited in Canada.
    • Licensure qualification: You must possess a dental qualification that makes you eligible for licensure in a province of Canada.
    • Provincial compliance: You must comply with provincial requirements for licensing dental interns and residents.


    Additional requirements

    • To study as a graduate student at the University of Manitoba:
    • You must demonstrate English language proficiency

    AND

    • You must have a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum "B" average (3.0) in the last 60 credit hours or equivalent. 
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment or Pearson Test of English (Academic) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based)

    • Dean’s letter: Include a letter from the Dean of the institution that awarded your dental degree. This letter will be completed within the online application.
    • Current curriculum vitae: Submit your most recent curriculum vitae (CV) outlining your education and professional experience.
    • Two letters of recommendation: Request two letters, including one from your current or most recent position. These must be requested from within the application.
    • Biographical sketch: Write a biographical sketch (500-600 words) explaining your reasons for choosing Prosthodontics and why you want to study at the University of Manitoba.
    • Proof of English language proficiency: If applicable, provide documentation of your English language proficiency. You can find more information about requirements here.
