Harnessing the power of wind using wind turbines represents a sustainable power source that can accelerate the drive towards a carbon neutral economy. Wind Turbine Technicians apply their practical knowledge to ensure that wind turbines operate at optimal capacity. This requires regular detailed inspections to identify problems as well as an analysis of wind turbine data over time. Safety training is a core focus for Wind Turbine Technicians as maintenance work is carried out at great heights. Diverse skill sets are developed in order properly troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Wind Turbine Technicians also play a key role in the installation of wind turbines to achieve the best positioning to harness wind energy.
