The Master of Human Rights (MHR) is an interdisciplinary program training students practically and academically for careers in human rights work. The program works in collaboration with multiple UM faculties including Arts, Education and Social Work.


These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours of study.
  • One undergraduate-level course in human rights or equivalent field experience is preferred.
  • Applicants who expect to complete their undergraduate degree before September may be conditionally accepted into the program.
