| The field of International Humanitarian and Security Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa encompasses not only the study of the established laws of armed conflict, but also includes legal scholarship on contemporary challenges to peace and collective security. Students completing the LL.M. with concentration in International Humanitarian and Security Law have a unique opportunity to study and work on crucial issues of international law, conflict resolution, national security, and peace building. In order to be considered for admission to the Master of Laws program, applicants must have an undergraduate law degree from a Canadian university with a minimum grade point average equivalent to a "B" (70%) or an equivalent foreign law degree with comparable results. Applicants should note that meeting the minimum standard for admission does not guarantee that admission will be granted. Applicants who have not studied in French or in English must also provide proof of sufficient aptitute to study at an advanced level in French or in English. |
