Description:

The aim of the master of science (MSc) program in general public health is to enhance students' research knowledge and skills in areas not covered by the specialist MSc thesis programs offered by the School of Public Health. Students in this program have the flexibility to tailor their choice of elective courses to their thesis topics. Students interested in interdisciplinary research around emerging issues might want to pursue this program. After completing the program, graduates will be prepared for doctoral level work and for research-related positions.

    A baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, from an academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta. Grade Point Average (GPA) - A GPA of at least 3.0 on most 4-point scales, or B on most letter grading systems, based on your most recent two years or last 60 credits of full-time study (or equivalent) is required. Preference will be given to those applicants with experience in a public health related field.
    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based)
    Application Notes : Applicants may also take a PTE with a minimum score of 59 in order to prove their English proficiency.
