PhD graduates in Building Engineering-related areas from Carleton have obtained prestigious research and development positions in major engineering companies as building scientists, energy modellers, sustainability consultants, restoration and retrofit experts for heritage buildings, digital and advanced computational modelling specialists, and fire safety engineers. They have become professors in Canadian universities and colleges. In addition, many of our graduates have been employed as researchers in the public sector including but not limited to the federal government research departments such as National Research Council and Natural Resources Canada.

    The requirements for admission for the PhD program will be to hold a master's degree from an engineering program with at least an A- average.
