Based in Nelson, BC, you'll be at the centre of epic mountain culture and have easy access to world-class ski resorts where you can sharpen your ski, snowboard and networking skills. Covering all aspects of ski resort operations, our program gives you a unique blend of management skills and industry knowledge to prepare you for lasting leadership roles. The curriculum contains specific industry course content not commonly available at post-secondary educational institutions.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have completed BC grade 12 or equivalent (e.g.: G.E.D., A.B.E. Provincial), including English 12 with a grade of "C"? or better.
Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79-80]
Application Notes : If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better. For Indian students coming through the SPP program, the IELTS requirement for diploma programs is 6.0 with no band less than 5.5.

Applicants are to provide a standard resume outlining their work experience in the ski industry or related tourism sectors such as retail, accommodations or food and beverage. Applicants are also recommended to have at least one season of full-time work at a ski resort. Part-time work or related experience in retail, adventure tourism or hospitality are considered in lieu of full-time ski industry experience.
