Description:The Bachelor of Social Work program highlights the principles of antioppressive practice and places an emphasis on social work with diverse identities in northern, rural and remote contexts.Through a blend of classical and innovative teaching approaches, the program is dedicated to establishing a positive climate for learning through supportive interaction, integrity, personal growth and creative expression.

In the professional years students complete 900 hours of field practicum working in a variety of settings within the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts. Throughout the field practicum, students will obtain supervised experiential learning that integrates theoretical knowledge to help students think critically and reflectively, complete research, and review and apply policy to practice.

    SWRK 1007 (or equivalent) with a minimum 70%

    SWRK 2106 (or equivalent) with a minimum 70%
    SWLF 1006 (or equivalent) with a minimum 70%
    6 credits (one full course equivalent) in Humanities
    6 credits (one full course equivalent) in Science

    Admission to the Professional Years is very limited and based on the following criteria:

    Personal Statement
    Analysis of a Social Issue
    Resume of Volunteer and Work experience
    One (1) academic and one (1) personal/professional reference
    Minimum 70% overall average (based on credits below)
