Professionals in corrections management oversee operations, staff and offenders during probation, parole, pre-trial sentencing or in prison. As leaders in departments and prisons, corrections managers are responsible for supervising frontline staff, implementing policy changes, allocating budgets, administering programs and more, depending on the position. These positions often include many of the administrative tasks associated with being a manager or executive but with the unique challenges and rewards of working in criminal justice.
The online corrections certificate program helps you develop a comprehensive knowledge of corrections management, community supervision and institutional management. Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's program. Alternatively, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master's program.
